Conservationist Damian Aspinall has devoted his life reintroducing captive gorillas into the wild. He wanted to see how two gorillas named Djalta and Bimms were doing after they were released into the forest of Gabon, West Africa back in 2003. He brought his daughter, Tansy, along with him.
Damien had not seen the pair for 3 or 4 years. Tansy had not seen them for 12 years, not since she was a young girl. What happens when the animals recognize her is truly remarkable! The gorilla gurgled a warm welcome and the moment they approach her is so touching. Damien says he felt such love from them and it’s so evident in what was filmed!
